1.) Did you enjoy working with a limitation? Why or why not? I did enjoy working with a limitation for this unit. I thought that working with a limitation was challenging and different. I like how we got to experiment with different limitations before doing the project. We watched videos and it showed me that people have greater limitations than we had in the classroom and they created great work with them. 2.) In this unit, I asked you experiment. How did this help your project? It helped my project because I got some ideas of how to do the final project. It was also just fun and a good way to introduce us to the new unit. The experiments showed me that there are many different possible limitations, but you can still make art with them. 3.) How did your final artwork turn out? Do you think it was successful? For my final project I did two pictures by finger painting. I choose finger painting because it was the limitation i enjoyed the most. I thought it was very freeing and I just liked it. I also did a painting using q-tips, i would dip the q-tips in paint and then dot them all over the page to create a picture. |

This is my self portrait drawing, done by myself. It is me as a zombie. Most of this drawing was created when i was in Mexico, so i didn't have the advantage of having Ms. Rossi's help for it. But i am still happy with how it turned out. I think i struggled with the value the most didn't want to go to dark and i didn't want to have the drawing be too light. I think i should go back and add more darker values to this drawing to make it look better. There is a lot of line movement n the hair. The drawing takes up most of the paper, there really isn't any empty space except for the top right of the drawing. I think i should have also added more value to the face. The drawing is me at a angle, i choose this since my reference picture was like this. There is a lot of repetition of lines in the hair, which took a while to complete. Some points of emphasis in my work are the eyes and the injuries on the forehead and neck, i think those are all very eye catching, and its one of the first things you see when you look at the drawing. The expression in the original picture was serious, so i took that expression and tried to make it scary somehow. I tried to capture that scariness of a zombie. My drawing reminds me of the show 'The Walking Dead', because that show is about zombie and i drew a zombie. That is were i got the inspiration to draw a zombie, was from the show the walking dead. I believe this work is original because it was myself and then i took elements of a zombie. I think it was overall a success, when i look at the picture i see a lot of mistakes, some that some people wouldn't even notice. I think i need to go back and add more darker values. |
